How to enjoy life in BSMath? Join Mr. and Ms. Math Wizards! It was the first ever Math Olympiad in the campus, organized by LEMMA-S2 and SMS. We were planning to compete in every contest, such as math-dama, chess, and math trail. They were teasing me to join Mr. Math Wizards; I said ‘yes’ thinking that they were not so serious about it. But to my surprise, they have already submitted my name to the committee. Well, nobody can force me to join that contest.
It was Monday, the first day of Math Olympiad. Em-em joined the math-dama contest, while Theresa joined the chess competition. Em-em was victorious as she won first place on the contest. Theresa wasn’t as lucky as her
. Congrats Em! Panlibre ha! Then, we had some photo-op, after her contest. We went up the stage and posed. When we came down, Kuya Dondon approached us, and he said that I will be the representative of SMS for the Math Wizards. Ha? Pagsure oie? I just told him that I will be thinking about it first. Em-em and Joy was convincing me to join, I told them that I don’t like. “Gusto bitaw na nimo, sige na!”, Em-em insisted. Outside, we saw Hazel, and we told her about it. “Sige na! para si Pame na lang ang wala’y title sa atua!...hahaha”, yeah right. Infairness, her remarks moved me. “Sige na lang,…”, I replied . Everything happened too fast. A rush pictorial, with my own camera?? Haha. Jifre, also joined the Math Wizards.
The next day, we had our exam in 131 . In the class they were teasing me. Xander: “If you will be given the chance to become the Mr. Math Wizard, do you think you will be given that chance??”.Hahaha. He was always funny. Em-em and Joy-joy were very supportive. They handed me a Math dictionary , and some formulas in Geometry. In the afternoon was the Math trail. Em-em, Joy-joy, and Leonelle facilitated in one of the stations. Me? I took a pre-test for the Math Wizards. I am just grateful that most of the questions had choices. It has really challenged my problem solving skills, and my memory of course. Thanks to my 991-ES Casio calculator from engineering, I was able to check my answers.
I was not so excited about it. In fact, I didn’t tell anyone here in the house about tomorrow’s event. But I prepared a lot. I memorized some postulates about Geometry, definition of terms, and a lot more. I then remembered Witt’s remarks “…to possibly win because of beginners luck!” . 
And the moment that all had been waiting for! Mr. and Ms. Math Wizards 2010! Yeah I won! With some minor awards in Best in Jeans, Best in Interview, and Voter’s Choice. Jifre also won as my first runner-up. Of course, to God be all the glory! And thanks to Jam-jam, Liza, Rina, Riza, Allan, JP, and Myrick for the support. Pame, of course for the prayers. To everybody for watching. To my former colleagues from the College of Engineering, for the speakers . And to Ms. Janaisha Bai for having a job well done! She came as an adjudicator of the show. Also one of the reasons why I was convinced to join. Hahaha.
And as conclusion, waaaaaaaaah. Si Pame na lang ang wala’y title sa amu tatlo! Hahaha. We are so much looking forward to that Pamz. Hehehe.
