"A piece of something", popularized...

In the gateway of my heart I put a sign says “no trespassing” but love came laughing and said “I enter everywhere”. Love knows no lies, love defies no reason, love has no eyes, but love is not blind. Love sees but doesn’t mind. Love is when you take away the feeling, the passion, the romance, and you find out you still care for that person. Love is supposed to be the most wonderful feeling. It should inspire you and give you joy and strength. But sometimes, the thing that gives you joy and strength cab also hurt you in the end. It starts with a smile, develop with a kiss and end with a tear.
When you love, you must not expect anything in return. If you do, you are not loving but investing. If you love, you must prepare to accept pain, for if you only accept happiness, you’re not loving but using.
The sad thing about life is that when you meet someone who means a lot to you only to find out in the end that that someone is never bound to be yours and you just have to let him go. Maybe God wants us a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person we should know how to be grateful for the gift. We oftentimes do not see the reason why we don’t always get what we want, but in the end of it all, we realize that what we wanted wasn’t meant for us at all – and that everything happens for a reason. When you feel down because you didn’t get what you want, just sit tight and be happy God’s thinking something best for you!
God never closes a door without leaving a wide window open. He always gives us something better when some things are not meant for us. Heartbreaks will last as long as you want and cut deep as you allow them to go, challenge is not how to survive heartbreaks but how to learn from them.
There are some things that we never want to let go, people we never want to leave behind, but keep in mind that letting go is not the end of the world but a beginning of a new life. It’s hard to let go, more especially if you are hurt, left alone, heartbroken. But a past of acceptance to failures will lead to a bright future, to fear less and to love more.
Heart truly in love never loses hope but always believe in the power of love. No matter how long the time and how far the distance, never ask goodbye when you still feel you can try. Never give up when you still feel you can take it. Never say you do not love a person anymore when you know that you cannot let go. TRUE LOVE doesn’t have happy ending. That’s because TRUE LOVE doesn’t even have an ending at all.

Melisa back in town!

After a week of being declared as the Pinoy Big Brother Double Up Big Winner, Melisa Cantiveros went back here in General Santos.
Though I wasn’t so much excited about it, yesterday, that view has changed!
I woke up late yesterday, and I went to school late. I was aware that she’ll be coming in our school, but I knew we will have our class. So with dismay, I chose to forget about it.
On my way to school, I rode a motorcycle (habal-habal). The driver then fetched a girl as another passenger. The driver asked me, “Asa ka dapit?’. “Sa Math’, I replied. He also asked the girl. “Sa gym lang’, the girl said. I was thinking that she would probably watch Melisa there.
When we reached the school gymnasium, woooh! There were many students, and I even saw my sister there. Loud cheers can be heard inside the gym. This thought about Melisa came to my mind again! I felt so unfortunate for I will not be able to see her. I was so resentful of the students who were there. Well, that’s the prize of being such an obedient student.
I was late when I arrived to our classroom. Sir Leonida was already discussing some lessons. Bernard told me that sir had already checked the attendance. And I was disappointed because “attendance” is the only thing that hinders me from not going to school, especially to Sir Leonida’s class! Of course also to learn, but attendance plays a major role in this subject. If that is the case, it would be better for me to absent from his class, and instead go to gym and watch for Melisa!
I was not in the mood to listen. I seated at the back, near the door. I noticed that we were the only class that had class (hahaah, class). “Kill joy kaayu si sir!”. There was a memorandum from the chancellor’s office which says that any interested faculty, staff, students, who would like to support Melisa, is exempted from his/her work/class. We knew that sir is disinterested about it, how about us?
I guess every one of us in the classroom would like to see her. Some of my classmates even made some remarks about Melai. Sir would not want to listen. He would change the topic. But later on, he had realized that he also wants to see Melai. So, he dismissed our class earlier.
Then, we hurriedly went to the gymnasium. We were just on time to see her! She was so pretty, in white tube. We were so delighted when we saw her. She has changed a lot. Yet, she was so humble and down to earth. She is always jolly, fun, loud and amiable. I cannot forget that experience.
Eng135: Dramatic Reading
Myrick asked a help from me if could be their music operator for their dramatic reading, held last Thursday, at the Mini Theater. Well, that’s the least I could afford him for all the good things he has done to me. Of course, I didn’t refuse. I’m sure it will be fun.
So, after my Psycho class, I immediately went to AS to meet with them. They were not so much prepared because Allan, their groupmate, was out for Cotabato the previous days. They only got a little time to practice. And for me, I got busy for the preparations of their music.
Honeybel and Joh also asked me if could operate their music. With willingness, I accepted their request.
And it’s showtime! When Honeybel and Joh’s group performed, it was not that difficult for me because they only got few tracks to play. But during Myrick’s group, it was more complicated. I got a hard time because some tracks were lost, or some changes were not saved. And I need to find them during their performance! There was a time when I grabbed the microphone and made a hard blow just to have sound effect for “big explosion”. But the microphone was off so it wasn’t heard.
Overall it was nice. I did have fun. Thanks for Dave, John Paul, and Benj for gracing the show.

Melissa: BIGWINNER ni Kuya, BIGWINNER ng GENSAN!

Go Melai! I was a fan of PBB double up, and that’s all because of Melissa, a fellow CityHighian and MSUan. February 13, a night before the Valentines, the heart of all Generals was so in loved to the funniest and most admirable housemate ni Kuya! Inday Kenkay ng Gensan was able to conquer the country by storm!
It was Tuesday, the Big reveal, when the standing of votes was showed to the audience. I was really shocked because Melissa only got the third spot! Even the host Toni Gonzaga did not expect the results. Of course, we cannot allow that! Especially to the Melason fans out there, we really want Melai to win! She not only needs it, but she also deserves it! She has showed her true self. She is very outspoken, vocal, straightforward. No hidden agenda. What you see is what you get! She doesn’t mind if she will look good, or if she won’t look good. As long as she can express her sentiments and feelings. It is enough. She is also caring. Not only towards her sweety-pie Jayson, but towards all the housemates.
During the big night, I was so confident that she will win. She was loved by all Filipinos. She has all the support of whole GENSAN! And indeed, she was announced as the Pinoy Big Brother Double Up Big Winner!
Salamat Melai! Binigyan mo kami ng inspirasyon! Sa kabila ng mga malulungkot na pangyayari sa aming buhay, binigyan mo kami ng tuwa at saya! Tunay nga na karapat-dapat kang ihalal na BigWinner ni Kuya! You have given us pride and glory! At ikaw ang BigWinner sa aming mga puso bilang General!. Ikaw ang BigWinner ng Gensan!

Tristan Rae Lim and Caroline Lim, hailed as Ginoo at Binibining Talino at Talento Hiyas ng Notre Dame 2010
It was Friday, when we came back in Notre Dame for the Pageant Night of Hiyas. This time, I was with my Palitz. We were so early. We waited for Gayle, Dinna, and Ivy (with uber short shorts!!!). It was six in the evening, the program started with the production number of the candidates. We all screamed on our chairs. The candidates were wearing a lion inspired costume . We were laughing, because Tristan was really energetic (not exactly what i mean but it was a blast!).We were handed by a banner of Kenneth Lugo, and we were waving it every time he appears on stage.
Then, after the contestants flaunted their formal wear, they were asked questions for the preliminary interview. They all showed their wit and intelligence.
Kuya Jaybee captured the loud cheers of the audience. Well, he has got a super nice voice! “Do you think that this pageant is a form of exploitation?”, Tristan flawlessly answered the question. He said that why would the administration provide permission to held the pageant, if it is a form of exploitation. And that’s a good job!
The candidates displayed their final attire, the evening wear. The minor awards were given. Mr. and Ms. Photogenic were Jose Amador Puertas and Caroline Lim. Best in Formal Wear was awarded to Kenneth and Jiezal Soliman. Best in Talent were Lovely Granada and Jaybee Bernales. Tristan got the best in Environmental costume.
And the Magic five was announced. Kenneth Lugo, Tristan Rae Lim, Jaybee Bernales, and Aries from Business Administration for the boys (unta tama ko...heheh). And Lovely Granada, Maureen Paulo, Gisselle, Caroline Lim, and Christine from Arts and Sciences for the girls. And they were asked by a single question, “If given the chance, what would you prefer, more time or more money?”.
Then the top 3 was announced, for the 3rd place, Christine and Aries, for the 2nd place, Mau and kuya Jaybee. And the brightest stars for the evening, Tristan Rae Lim and Caroline Lim, Ginoo at Binibining Talino at Talento Hiyas ng Notre Dame 2010.

Myrick and the incredible bucking horse

Myrick was the first grandchild born. He is the child of my “second” brother and is a junior. We were all excited when he came along. When he got old enough to start crawling and standing, my brother bought him one of those black and white spotted horses from Oval Plaza that had wheels. When the reins flipped, the horse would whinny.
Along with this, Myrick had a cowboy hat and a guitar. With the guitar, he would strum and sing Sandara. I think that is an Encanatadia song. It was popular when Myrick was a toddler. He was really cute when he would dance and sing that song. Eh eh eh eh eh…Encantadia.
I think Myrick aspired to be a singing cowboy much like Britney Spears and 2NE1. He was certainly encouraged by all the adults at that time. He really posed a wonderful picture, like a beautiful Ssheda.
Well, Myrick would climb on his stately steed and he would “ride the range”
What would happen is that Myrick would run into a door jamb, the wheel on the horse would stop and Myrick wouldn’t. So, over the head of the pony he would go. True to being a cowboy, Myrick would get back up and get back on that old horse. Once, poor Myrick was hurt so much that his uncle Jonas would carry him in his arms. And he always likes being carried like a baby. He will give his uncle a kiss and wiggle like a worm.
I can still hear my brother saying: “That dang horse just threw Myrick again.”
Myrick finally got too old to ride the horse and it was put out to pasture. I really don’t think the other two children in that family ever really took to the cowboy life.
Talent Night Ginoo at Binibining Talino at Talento Hiyas ng Notre Dame 2010 Feb.06
I was glad that I came back in Notre Dame, first time for this year and first time with palitz Gwen and mamsie Liza. Last year I was with Myrick , and we really had so much fun. And we came here not just to enjoy, but of course to support our elite berkz, Joe and Titan. How did I know about Hiyas? The day after my birthday, Jan. 25 I was invited by Meme to watch Hiyas, and he said that Joe and Titan will be joining. I can’t miss it of course. I am a fan of Joe and a close friend of Tristan way back in high school, and I want them to feel my support. It was Feb. 06, the talent night, and we were with hon Dinna, Gayle, and Ivy. The programme started 5 pm, and the crowd screamed as the candidates appeared in the stage. Tristan was the male candidate number 1, representing CET (College of Engineering and Technology), while Jose was the male candidate number 6, also representing CET. From the Colleges of Education and Nursing were Kenneth Arvin Lugo and Beejay Bernales, number 7 and number 8 respectively. Daryl Jhon Batilo, 1st year College of Arts and Sciences stude was candidate number 2 . The female candidates were ate Lovely Granada < pud="" to="" aku="" hahaha="" lang="">. Before the talent show, the contestants showed their environmental attire. As a symbol of passion and love, fire elements were Tristan, Daryl and Jiezel. A symbol of care and strength, earth elements Jose, Jaybee, and Caroline. And as a symbol of prosperity and peace, water elements, Kenneth, Mau, and Lovely. The contestants were only given 5 minutes to showcase their talent. Tristan played a violin with so much enthusiasm. Jose showed his brilliance in oration. Daryl displayed his talent in acting. “Do you want to fly with Peterpan?”…<>. Kenneth, the crowd favorite , had a song and dance number. “Magaling akong sumayaw! (sumayaw siya), Marunong pala akong sumayaw!”. While Kuya Jaybee, portrayed a storyteller (5:01 overtime by one second! Hahaha). A very hot dance number was given by Maureen. Song numbers from Carol, which I really enjoyed, and ate Love, “Ako ang bida ngayon! (Masyado kang ambisyosa!) Huwag kang kokontra, ako ay isang Marista. Ay time na pala, bye!” And Jiezal had a puppet show and a dance number as well.
Mr. and Ms. Math Wizards 2010 Jan. 13, 2010
How to enjoy life in BSMath? Join Mr. and Ms. Math Wizards! It was the first ever Math Olympiad in the campus, organized by LEMMA-S2 and SMS. We were planning to compete in every contest, such as math-dama, chess, and math trail. They were teasing me to join Mr. Math Wizards; I said ‘yes’ thinking that they were not so serious about it. But to my surprise, they have already submitted my name to the committee. Well, nobody can force me to join that contest.
It was Monday, the first day of Math Olympiad. Em-em joined the math-dama contest, while Theresa joined the chess competition. Em-em was victorious as she won first place on the contest. Theresa wasn’t as lucky as her
I was not so excited about it. In fact, I didn’t tell anyone here in the house about tomorrow’s event. But I prepared a lot. I memor

And as conclusion, waaaaaaaaah. Si Pame na lang ang wala’y title sa amu tatlo! Hahaha. We are so much looking forward to that Pamz. Hehehe.

A Heart Break or Make
I am always a fan of Princess Hours, a Korean drama program, which features a classic ‘Cinderella’ story of a particular girl named Janelle, predestined to marry the crown prince Gian, as arranged by their grandfathers, Janelle’s lolo and, the late Emperor of Korea, Gian’s grandpa. The drama has a lot of twists and turns, such as conflicts between the characters, and conflicts between circumstances. But on the latter part of the story, the newly ordained clumsy princess was able to capture the solid heart of the prince. And they lived happily ever after.
But here’s a contradiction: “Fairytales do NOT always have happy endings!”
I was once inspired by their story, but sadly, their story has come to an end. And I was referring to the story of Johanna and Von.
I do not know, but somehow, I feel guilty about it because I was the one pushing Joh to give Von a chance. Yes, from the very beginning, Joh has been very clear that she cannot feel anything to Von. Although they were going out, but as she said, there was no “spark” at all. But I was persuading her because I can see that Von is sincere about his feelings toward her, and that is with no doubt. Von even publish a blogspot for Joh, just for her to know him well. It was really sweet, and I really appreciate that effort. And he was able to capture Joh’s heart. It was really an inspiring story, that even gave me guts to write here again!
Joh would tell us that she is so much in love to Von, and we could really see it in her sparkling brilliant eyes. She was talking passionately, an indication of overflowing love. And I really cannot forget when she always bring ‘extra rice’ for Von. They were eating lunch together in school. They were hanging out, enjoying each other’s company. Von even gave a book to Johanna as a present. He knows Joh’s favorites.
I thought that it was a lifetime journey, but again I was wrong. They broke up with whatsoever reasons. I may not know all the details, but one thing I know is that Joh is still in love to Von. She has no choice but to forget her feelings for Von, or else she’ll be more hurt.
As of now, Joh is very happy being single. I know she is not alone for we are always here for her. We love her so much. She may have a heartbreak with Von, but she can always have a heart make for us, her friends.

Life is great! Away from the pressures of H building, it was a great relief. My first three months didn’t cause me so much stress. The lessons are not so difficult, and I like it the way it is. Unlike in engineering, when you thought you had already given your best, yet you still end with nothing. Here, your labors are paid worth the prize. The teachers are more considerate and more open. And my classmates are very approachable. If not because of my “co-shifters”, life here would be difficult. Thanks to Em-em, Joy-joy, Leonelle, Revee, Xander, Theresa, Sheila, Raymond, Joseph and Ian. We were all together along this journey. And I am glad that I have met all of them.
